As director of the Five Wisdoms Institute Irini Rockwell travels internationally as a trainer and coach for personal and professional development for health professionals, educators, leaders, artists, and individuals. She is author of The Five Wisdom Energies, a Buddhist Way of Understanding Personalities, Emotions, and Relationships and a senior teacher in the Shambhala community. She draws from a background in Buddhist teachings and practices, psychotherapy, leadership training, dance and creative process.

 Ms Rockwell has an MA in Contemplative Psychotherapy and a Certificate in Authentic Leadership from Naropa University and BS in Dance from The Juilliard School. She was a long time core faculty at Naropa University where she was director of undergraduate dance and dance therapy. Previous to that she directed her own dance company, Footloose, in the San Francisco Bay Area where she performed, choreographed, and taught. When her focus turned to contemplative approaches to working with others, she co-created professional trainings for the National Institute for School Development in the Netherlands, Karuna Training in Germany, Ticino Maitri Group in Switzerland, and EastWind Institute in Canada. She is a long time student and teacher for Trungpa Rinpoche, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, and Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche.
